Meet our Guanaco Blend—an impossibly soft, light, and luminous yarn spun from 40% guanaco down (yes, the wild cousin of the alpaca), blended with fine merino wool for structure and bounce, and finished with a kiss of silk for that quiet, unmistakable glow.

Blend: 40% guanaco, 40% merino, 20% silk.

Yarns are 1oz 28 grams lace weight and 217.41 yards per ball.

The size of the needles/crochet and gauge really depend on the pattern.

We have projects that use size US 00 all the way to size US 7, the size most common is US 5 or 3.75mm.

We recommend washing your knitwear hand in lukewarm water. Dry flat and under no circumstances should you dry it on any heat source.

It will naturally become softer and fluffier with each wash.

Today, guanacos are legally protected and listed under CITES Appendix II, which means international trade in guanaco fiber is tightly regulated.

Only fiber collected with special permits and certification can be sold, ensuring it was obtained sustainably without harming the animals​.

Guanaco fiber is harvested by hand once every two years in a traditional chaccu roundup.

It’s ethically shorn, never farmed, and protected under CITES regulations.

Softness you can feel

With a micron count similar to cashmere (and sometimes even finer), this yarn feels buttery in the skein and blissful on your needles.

Naturally breathable & warm

Hollow-core guanaco fibers trap warmth without bulk. This blend is cozy in winter, breathable in spring, and never too heavy.
