Quilla Shawl Pattern
by Susanna IC
Quilla was inspired by the beautiful ornamental art of South America - from contemporary textiles and sculpture to architecture dating back to antiquity. Quilla is worked from the bottom edge in one piece starting with the deep beaded lace and is shaped into a crescent with simple stockinette short rows. The top edge features a narrow beaded lace just before the bind off. Even though the lace pattern may seem complex, it uses only basic stitches, its reverse rows are simply purled and addition of the beads is optional.
